1772. This stone was erected by JAMES BENVY weaver in
Pitmiddle and his wife MARGARET WARDROPPER A.D.1772 in memory of their son JOHN
BENVY who died the 26 of September 1768 aged 4 years. A child much loved in his
life and lamented in his death.
