The stout edge-roll and the lintel that are in re-use in a doorway at the rear of the combine-shed on the N side of Pitkindie are apparently all that remain of Pitkindie tower-house. The lintel is wrought with a mitred chamfer and bears an heraldic shield on which there are the initials PB (Patrick Boyd) and the date 1601.
